Geejam Hotel in Jamaica to Debut a Dozen Studios in December
The Geejam Hotel, one of several properties comprising the Geejam Collection near Port Antonio on Jamaica's northeast coast, will debut its 12 Marumba Studios in December, bringing to 19 the number of rooms offered by the hotel.
Rooms at the property offer ground floor and upper floor options and feature views of the Jamaican rainforest or beach and sea views.
Each room features white and wood design details and modern amenities, including a soaking tub and an unusual wall-hanging shower in the bathrooms.
The property's Bushbar has been renovated and expanded; an infinity pool is now perched in the rainforest; a stage for live performances with a seating area and a DJ booth has been added; and new menu items are offered.
A new function and events area is still to come, including a restaurant and bar surrounded by cabanas overlooking Frenchman's Cove and Cocoa Bay.
The Geejam Collection, tucked into the foothills of the Blue Mountains, also includes three private villas, three deluxe cabins, one junior suite, a spa, a pool, a gym, a restaurant and the Geejam recording studios. The collection is owned by music industry veterans Jon Baker and Steve Beaver.
Opening rates for the new units start at $350 per room, per night, double, and are available through Dec. 20 and from Jan. 5 to April 19; rates are higher during the Christmas holidays. Breakfast is included, and transfers are included from Kingston's Norman Manley Airport (two hours away by car) with a minimum five-night stay.
