Gaviota S.A. Announces New Facilities, Services at FITCuba 2018

“Most of the cruises that are docking in Cuba –by far the fastest-growing travel niche on the island nation- arrive in Havana, therefore, Gaviota’s contribution to this segment comes down to developing the necessary infrastructure the country needs for this particular activity,” Frank Pais Oltuski, President of Gaviota S.A., told Excelencias in an exclusive interview.

Mr. Oltuski also said that his company has embarked on refurbishing all the Habaguanex facilities in the nation’s capital, especially in Old Havana, and mostly focused on opening high-end properties. That list includes the soon-to-open Packard and Paseo del Prado hotels.

During a presentation made within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2018) in Santa Maria Key, Mr. Oltuski spelled out details on new openings in the works on Santa Maria Key: the 802-room, five-star Paradisus Los Cayos, and the 252-guestroom Angsana Cayo Santa Maria.

In addition to the hotels and the new builds in the offing, Gaviota S.A. also has a wide array of choices and services. According to Mr. Oltuski, the company is currently running plazas, restaurants, game arcades, disco clubs, handicraft markets, spas and a number of other facilities.

At the same time, Gaviota S.A. is in talks with foreign partners to build a waterpark, while Gaviota Tours –the company’s travel agency- is now offering more tours and excursions, including private rides, scuba diving and fishing trips.
