FITCuba 2017 officially opened Wednesday at the Playa Pesquero Hotel in Holguin, in eastern Cuba, with a keynote speech delivered by Cuban Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero.

Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism spelled out details Wednesday on the upcoming edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2017) slated for May 3-6 in the province of Holguin in eastern Cuba.

The 37th International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2017 will be held at Gibara, a city located in the eastern province of Holguin. It will open with the presentation of Gibara as a new tourist product.

The success of the recently-closed fair will make the Ministry of Tourism rethink the format of these events from now on. Minister Marrero summed up the idea: “everybody wants to come to Cuba, so we have to think big.”

With the attendance of over 2,000 representatives from 55 nations, the International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2016 came to an end in Havana.

Carnival Corporation is willing and ready to enhance its cruise terminals in Cuba, according to Giora Israel, the company’s senior vice president for strategic planning.
