Celestyal Cruises announced the resumption of operations on May 29 from Piraeus, Athens, with its seven-night Idyllic Aegean itinerary.
The season was previously scheduled to kick off in late April, but the new roadmap announced by the Greek Ministry of Tourism to open the country to tourism moved the plans.
The company said in a press release that it is "encouraged by the continued progress being made in containing the global Covid-19 pandemic, especially with the increasing and effective launch of vaccines around the world."
Celestyal will resume operations with the Celestyal Crystal and through two ports of embarkation, Piraeus and Lavrion, and as more countries reopen and demand increases, the company will announce the deployment of the remaining fleet in 2021.
Guests with bookings on the cancelled voyages in late April and May will have the option to receive a refundable future cruise credit.
