Following the recent collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore Harbor, Royal Caribbean has announced a temporary relocation of its operations to Norfolk, Virginia.

The cruise ship Vision of the Seas, which departed from Baltimore on March 23, will now dock in Norfolk on Thursday, April 4. To accommodate guests, Royal Caribbean will provide compensation and complimentary shuttle services, along with Wi-Fi and phone access to assist in adjusting travel plans.

Furthermore, the cruises originally scheduled to depart from Baltimore on April 4 and April 12 will now depart from Norfolk instead. Royal Caribbean assures booked guests will receive compensation for the necessary changes to their vacation plans.

After completing its April 12 cruise, Vision of the Seas will proceed with its scheduled maintenance in The Bahamas.

The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge occurred when a container ship struck one of the bridge's supports, leading to its collapse into the Patapsco River on Tuesday morning. Tragically, six workers who were present on the bridge at the time of the incident are presumed to have lost their lives.
