Antigua and Barbuda recently celebrated the resounding success of the ninth annual Showcase Antigua Barbuda, held from June 23-26, 2024. This pivotal business event, organized by the Antigua and Barbuda Hotel and Tourism Association (ABHTA) and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA), aimed to bolster business from key markets such as the UK, US, Canada, Europe, and across the Caribbean.

The event kicked off with a vibrant 'Hello Summer 2024' themed welcome cocktail at Verandah Antigua, featuring cultural displays of local cuisine, dance, and entertainment. Over forty international travel partners convened at Royalton Antigua, engaging with local suppliers and participating in property tours across the island. A day of familiarization tours culminated in a sunset cocktail hosted by Rocks Groups at Sheer Rocks Antigua, offering a relaxed networking atmosphere.

Highlighting the diversity of the twin islands, attendees also enjoyed a full-day tour of Barbuda, organized by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority. The itinerary included visits to the Frigate Bird Sanctuary, Pink Sand Beach, Martello Towers, and Princess Diana Beach. The event concluded with a lively "Nautical Chic" themed party at the new adults-only Royalton Chic, underscoring the islands' allure and hospitality.

Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, expressed optimism about the outcomes: "Showcase Antigua Barbuda 2024 has been instrumental in fostering collaboration and enhancing business prospects with our global travel partners. This positions our destination favorably for increased air travel and record visitor arrivals in the upcoming winter season."

Craig Marshall, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Hotel and Tourism Association, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the event's role in driving occupancy and bookings: "Providing a platform for our members to showcase their offerings to international partners is invaluable for driving travel growth to our islands. We anticipate continued support and partnership from our global travel network."

The success of Showcase Antigua Barbuda 2024 was made possible through the generous sponsorship of local hotel partners including Elite Island Resorts, Blue Waters Resort & Spa, The Inn at English Harbour, Hodges Bay Resort & Spa, and Royalton Chic, highlighting the collaborative spirit and commitment to tourism excellence in Antigua and Barbuda.
