A few days from now El Salvador will be the epicenter of the 13th edition of the Central America Travel Market (CATM) 2024, a crucial event for the Central American region and the Dominican Republic.

From April 16th to 18th, the Hilton San Salvador Hotel will host this prominent gathering under the theme "Forging Connections," organized by various entities such as the Central America Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) and the Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism (CASATUR), among others.

The main objective of this edition is to strengthen the tourist visibility of Central America and the Dominican Republic, highlighting their natural and cultural allure to an international audience. The CATM is established as a crucial point for interaction between European and North American wholesalers and tour operators from the region, with significant representation from Spanish companies such as Viajes El Corte Inglés and CATAI.

Among the participants are also significant international players such as ARGE Latin America in Germany, as well as US companies like Expedia and Cosby Travel Consultants. Leading airlines like Avianca, Volaris, and Iberia support this event, along with prominent local media outlets.

The Minister of Tourism of El Salvador, Morena Valdez, has expressed enthusiasm for welcoming the participants, highlighting the richness of the destination. The CATM 2024 seeks to capitalize on this opportunity to present a comprehensive overview of the region's tourism offerings, ranging from archaeology to gastronomy.

The CATM is internationally recognized as a unique platform that facilitates interaction between tourism service providers and wholesale agencies from different parts of the world. Additionally, it promotes the sustainable development of the region as a multi-destination tourist destination, representing a significant step towards its long-term growth. The last edition of this event took place in Guatemala in 2019.
