On the last day of CATM 2024, the new pro tempore presidency of the Federation of Chambers of Tourism of Central America and the Dominican Republic (FEDECATUR), a private regional organization dedicated to promoting tourism business development in the Central American region, was elected.

The new FEDECATUR board is composed of Ovidio Díaz Espino, president of the Panama Chamber of Tourism, as president, and Alba Russo, who serves as Legal and Interinstitutional Relations Director of Asonahores in the Dominican Republic, as vice president.

"This is a great challenge. The change of presidency, which is within the statutes of FEDECATUR, is a great challenge and a great responsibility; it entails the commitment to continue with all the challenges that are on the table and in development, to strengthen them in order to ensure that Central America, as a tourist destination, continues to strengthen," said Ovidio Díaz Espino after accepting the pro tempore presidency of the federation.

"We must continue to seek unity among all of us. That goes above and beyond any political differences that may exist. But we, the business sector we represent, must continue to work for the unity of all Central Americans and open the way to huge tourism markets," added Mr. Díaz Espino.

The Federation of Chambers of Tourism of Central America and the Dominican Republic (FEDECATUR) is a regional private non-profit organization, with legal personality, apolitical and non-partisan, with the mission to represent and defend the interests of the private tourism sector of Central America and the Dominican Republic to achieve regional interaction and sustainable development of the tourism sector in the region.
