Marriott International expanded its Asian luxury footprint today by signing a landmark partnership with Cangio Tourist City Corporation to bring two flagship brands to Ho Chi Minh City.

The agreement will see the development of The Ritz-Carlton Can Gio and the Can Gio Marriott Hotel within the massive Vinhomes Green Paradise coastal project. Scheduled to open in late 2027, the two properties will add approximately 700 rooms and villas to Vietnam’s growing high-end hospitality inventory.

This strategic expansion is a mechanical necessity for Marriott to capture the surging "urban wonder" tourism segment in Southeast Asia.

The Ritz-Carlton property, featuring 9 floors and 250 keys, will focus on wellness and seclusion, while the 25-story Marriott Hotel will target the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market with over 1,500 square meters of event space.

This dual-brand approach allows Marriott to maximize its market share within a single development by catering to both leisure seekers and corporate delegates.

For the 2026 luxury traveler, Vietnam is rapidly becoming a primary alternative to traditional hubs like Bali or Phuket. The Vinhomes Green Paradise development is designed as a "coastal mega-urban area," integrating golf courses, opera houses, and luxury retail into a single destination.

As Marriott continues to bolster its uber-luxury portfolio in the region—including a new JW Marriott signing near Vrindavan, India—the focus remains on creating "sanctuaries of soulful luxury" for the modern global traveler.
