The Sun Rose West Hollywood Ushers in a New Era of Culture-Driven Luxury

A new chapter of luxury hospitality and cultural sophistication unfolds today with the official debut of The Sun Rose West Hollywood, located at 8430 W Sunset Blvd. Reimagined from its previous identity, this 149-room hotel now joins the Preferred Hotels & Resorts' L.V.X. Collection, offering a bold fusion of music, design, wellness, and nightlife at the heart of the Sunset Strip.
Named after the venue housed within the property—formerly the iconic House of Blues—The Sun Rose takes inspiration from its rich musical legacy. Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the interiors channel a “real-life Slim Aarons photo,” blending Art Deco elegance, striking color palettes, and layered textures. Guests are welcomed through the black-and-white checkered Piazza, greeted by the captivating tree sculpture "Sunset Jewel" by Cao Perrot Studio, and dazzled by Anthony James' immersive light installation, ‘Portal Icosahedron’, in the emerald-lacquered lobby.
Central to the transformation is the hotel’s celebrated music venue, now branded as Live at The Sun Rose, which will continue to host renowned performances and serve as a cultural heartbeat of the property. Grammy and Emmy-winning artist Adam Blackstone takes the reins as Creative Director, tasked with shaping a multifaceted artistic program that elevates both the venue and hotel experience. Blackstone, who has worked with music icons such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Alicia Keys, brings a dynamic vision rooted in high-profile entertainment and live performance.
The hotel’s rooftop restaurant Merois, helmed by Wolfgang Puck, brings Pan-Asian cuisine to life with sweeping views of Los Angeles. The Moët Bubbles Bar, open Fridays and Saturdays, and the bi-weekly Rooftop Movie Series offer guests a stylish and social atmosphere. Additional amenities include a second-floor spa featuring advanced skincare technologies, a fully equipped Technogym fitness center, and 37 spacious suites that embody California glamour.
For private events and corporate gatherings, The Sun Rose offers an eclectic mix of meeting spaces, including a 2,300-square-foot ballroom, a rose-pink bowling alley, a screening room, and an outdoor Garden Terrace. Each space is enhanced by Wolfgang Puck's catering and the property's commitment to detail and service.
Remaining part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts network, guests can enjoy I Prefer Hotel Rewards benefits. Whether you're a music aficionado, wellness enthusiast, or style seeker, The Sun Rose West Hollywood delivers a modern expression of Los Angeles luxury that merges heritage, creativity, and contemporary hospitality in one unforgettable destination.
