American Airlines will add another new Caribbean destination from New York this fall when it begins nonstop service from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to St. Lucia.

American is already the largest U.S. airline flying out of New York to the Caribbean, and the new flights will be the only nonstop service currently scheduled between New York and St. Lucia, a lush tropical island located northwest of Barbados.

American will fly the route three times weekly beginning November 15, with flights operating into St. Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport. Service will be flown with Boeing 757 aircraft, configured with 22 seats in First Class and 166 seats in the Main Cabin.

American currently offers daily nonstop service to St. Lucia (Hewanorra) from Miami, while its regional partner, American Eagle, flies five times daily from San Juan, Puerto Rico (to George F.L. Charles Airport).
