Acapulco Reports 10.7 Percent Increase in 2012 Hotel Occupancy

The Acapulco Destination Marketing Office reported that hotel occupancy levels throughout the destination have increased an average of 10.7 percent so far in 2012, according to statistics released by the Office of the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Guerrero. The Golden Zone of Acapulco showed the greatest rise in hotel occupancy with a 12.1 percent increase.

Other popular areas saw similar increases, with the Nautical, or Traditional, Zone increasing hotel occupancy by 8.5 percent, and the Diamond Zone increasing occupancy by 7 percent. Moreover, the destinations in Guerrero that form the Sun Triangle show a global increase of 9.4 percent compared to 2011, with Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo increasing 6.2 percent, and Taxco increasing 7.4 percent.
