Aeromexico on April 6 will begin nonstop service between Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Monterrey, Mexico, with continuing service to Mexico City. The flights will operate three times per week aboard Aeromexico’s Next Generation Boeing 737 aircraft.

In conjunction with the new flights, Aeromexico will offer Detroit customers free, connecting bus transfers from Monterrey to Saltillo, home to a number of automotive production facilities and parts suppliers.

The Aeromexico announcement comes weeks after SkyTeam partner Northwest Airlines announced it would begin daily, nonstop service from Detroit to Monterrey, in conjunction with its regional subsidiary, Compass Airlines. Northwest also offers daily, nonstop service between Detroit and Mexico City.
