Air France/KLM Reports 2.1 Percent Increase in Revenue
Air France/KLM reported a 2.1 percent rise in revenues to 6.79 billion euros for the quarter that ended in September and operating results of 397 million euros. For the six months ending in September, it reported a 5.2 percent rise in revenues to 13 billion euros and operating results of 252 million euros.
Traffic was dynamic in the passenger activity but began to erode in cargo. Moreover, the level of unit revenues was insufficient to offset the rise in the fuel bill. Passenger traffic rose 7.9 percent for capacity up by 6.3 percent.
Total revenues for the group amounted to 6.79 billion euros versus 6.65 billion euros as of Sept. 30, 2010, up 2.1 percent, despite a negative currency impact of 2.8 percent. Operating costs rose 5.3 percent and 2.3 percent ex-fuel.
