Air Jamaica Announces Plans to Bolster Group-Travel Services
Air Jamaica, as part of its restructuring under private ownership, said it is expanding its meetings and incentives department.
Edith Seaton, manager, meetings and incentives for Air Jamaica, said a new sales representative will be added to its meetings and incentives department this month. “Groups will be a major part of our marketing thrust to fill seats at off-peak times,” Seaton said.
She said Air Jamaica has doubled the number of groups it has flown since its conversion to private ownership. She estimated that about 20 percent of the airline’s business comes from groups.
Air Jamaica has special air fares for group travel, which is 10 or more people traveling together. The airline also upgraded its fleet and improved in-flight service.
