Air Jamaica CEO Steps Down
Mike Conway, CEO of Air Jamaica, resigned on October 18 from the national airline, effective immediately. Mr. Conway's successor has not yet been named.
The move came two days after the Jamaican government approved a new board of directors for the carrier, headed by former Jamaica Labor Party senator, Shirley Williams.
According to Conway, who was two years into a three-year contract with the airline, his employment agreement had a provision for him to be able to resign in the event of a change of government.
Jamaica's elections in September swept the Jamaica Labor Party into power, ending the five-term, 18-year reign of the People’s National Party.
