Air Jamaica Sales, Marketing Chief Quits
Paul Pennicook, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Air Jamaica, has resigned effective Sept. 30, according to Air Jamaica. Pennicook’s future plans have not yet been announced.
Mr. Pennicook joined the carrier in 2006 after serving for three years as Jamaica’s director of tourism. Prior to that, Mr. Pennicook was president and CEO of Couples Resorts International for six years.
The government of Jamaica announced plans in May to sell the debt-ridden airline by March 2009. The carrier was a private enterprise once before, from 1994 to 2004. Since 2004, the carrier has lost an average of $100 million per year, according to Prime Minister Bruce Golding.
