AMA Waterways to Operate Renovated Ship in Russia in 2011

AMA Waterways will operate the AmaKatarina on its “Russian Waterways” program starting May 10, 2011. The Bessel will sail 14 11-night voyages for the 2011 season. The renovated ship will be the largest on the Volga-Baltic waterways.

The 212-passenger ship has 106 cabins, 76 of which have balconies. There are 10 cabin categories spanning four decks. Four suite categories range in size from 280 to 432 square feet. Public areas include a restaurant, panorama lounge, conference hall, sauna, bar/nightclub and solarium.

The Russia cruises, between Moscow and St. Petersburg, include two nights onboard docked in Moscow, followed by a six-night cruise. Passengers will visit the Golden Ring cities of Uglich and Yaroslavl, then transit across Europe’s two largest lakes, Onega and Ladoga, to St. Petersburg. The tour concludes with three nights onboard the vessel in St. Petersburg.
