Apple to Invest $600 Million in Mexico through AMResorts Division

Apple Leisure Group is bullish on Mexico. The company said it plans to Apple Leisure Group said it plans to invest $600 million in Mexico through its AMResorts hotel unit. The investment will include six news resorts comprising 2,800 rooms, said Alejandro Zozaya, president of Apple Leisure Group.

“A proven market, AMResorts is fiercely committed to Mexico and believes the destination provides a strong opportunity for investors,” said Alejandro Zozaya, president, Apple Leisure Group, said in a prepared statement. “With more than 20 properties across the country, AMResorts has seen first-hand the social and economic impact of our investments, and is excited for the next growth phase with this announcement.”

Destinations will include Quintana Roo, Puerto Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta. Apple Leisure Group said the investment is expected to create 4,000 jobs, approximately $237 million in annual sales and an economic impact of $356 million annually.
