ARC Reports Air Sales Gains for April
The Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC) reported $7.8 billion in air sales for April 2008 and $29.7 billion in air sales year to date. This is a 5.9-percent increase over the same period of 2007.
Domestic fares were $3.4 billion while international fares were $3.2 billion. Domestic transactions declined 0.89 percent and for the year-to-date 4.01 percent compared to the same period in 2007.
International fares rose 9.4 percent. Total taxes and fees increased 15.6 percent and 10.2 percent compared to 2007. E-tickets accounted for 97.7 percent. Credit card transactions gained slightly by 0.10 percent, but declined in contrast to the same period in 2007 by 2.3 percent.
