Australian travel agency group Flight Centre Limited has agreed to acquire Liberty Travel for $135 million. The acquisition, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions, is expected to be completed in January and will be Flight Center’s largest acquisition to date.

Liberty Travel serves more than 2 million customers annually through its retail network. The company’s wholesale business, Gogo Worldwide Vacations, works with 18,000 travel agencies.

Flight Center plans on expanding that business with the addition of 193 storefronts on the East Coast in Florida and Chicago, as well as with 40 more wholesale locations in 22 states.
