Azamara Unbundles Air from Cruise Fare

Azamara Cruises is unbundling air fare from the price of its voyages. Effective March 2, Azamara pricing will be as cruise-only.

“To date, more than half of Azamara guests have booked their cruise as cruise-only and have opted to shop for their own air,” Dondra Ritzenthaler, Celebrity’s senior vice president of sales, said in a letter to travel agents.

“The change to cruise-only pricing allows us to offer extremely competitive pricing for these guests.” Ritzenthaler said Azamara will continue to pay commission on air booked through the line.

“The great news is that we will keep our standard air prices competitive and now, we will have the flexibility to provide reduced air from select North American gateways,” she said.
