BKWine Unveils Wine Tours to France, Portugal

The specialist tour organizer BKWine has launched its spring program 2009 with two new wine and food tours. The destinations include Périgord (with truffles, duck and wine) in France, and the wins and food of the Alentejo in Portugal.

Truffles, foie gras and wine in the Périgord (southwest France), including a real truffle hunt, a half-day cooking workshop with duck and foie gras, and wine is scheduled for Feb. 11 to 15. The Alentejo in Portugal, a wine region that is on the forefront of the modern winemaking in Portugal, with gourmet specialties like the pata negra ham, is scheduled for March 25 to 29.

The tours are organized by Karlsson, one of Europe’s most active organizers of specialists wine and gastronomy tours. Each tours is scheduled around a long weekend, starting Wednesday evening and ending on Sunday morning, giving travelers the opportunity to combine it with other activities. The three days with BKWine are filled with winery visits and food events.
