Brazilian Investors Eye Hefty Potential in Dubai’s Tourism Market

As part of marketing strategy and continuous efforts towards promoting Dubai as an international trade and tourism destination, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Director General, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, received a high-profile delegation of businessmen and investors from Brazil at the DTCM Head Office recently.

The large delegation from the South American country was headed by Mr. Francisco Ritta Bernardino, Vice-President of the Federation of Industries in Amazon and President of the Amazon Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Hamad bin Mejren, DTCM Director Inward Missions, Ms Ellen Honorato, Vice-President of the Ariau Group of Hotels and the Amazon Convention and Visitors Bureau, Mr. Daniel Jabbour of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Andre Beraha, Manager, Nascimento Turismo – Tour Operator, Brazil.

Mr. Bernardino is the second largest owner of land in Brazil and is looking for investment opportunities in Dubai as well as selling large piece of land and resorts estimated at 1,500 sq kilometers for possible investors from the UAE to his country.

Mr. bin Sulayem briefed the delegation about the benefits and facilities Dubai has to offer to the investors and businessmen from the world over besides highlighting the global efforts of DTCM in promoting the trade and tourism attractions of Dubai.

During his first-ever visit to the emirate, Mr. Bernardino, who is also the President of the Ariau Group of Hotels, expressed his admiration for Dubai describing the city as ‘Paradise of the Desert’ while comparing it to Amazon which he calls as the “Paradise of the Rainforest.”
