British Airways Daily Nonstop Flights between London and Buenos Aires
British Airways has announced plans to significantly increase services to South America with a daily direct flight to Buenos Aires and starting next winter nonstop flights to Rio de Janeiro.
Commencing October 26, the airline will up its Heathrow to Buenos Aires flights to a daily service from four per week and will start flying direct to Rio from Heathrow instead of via Sao Paulo, cutting some two hours off the flight time.
“South America is a growing market for us as demand for business and leisure travel increases. Were responding to that demand by providing more flights to Buenos Aires and nonstop services to Rio” BA commercial director Robert Boyle said in a statement.
“Rio is traditionally a leisure destination but business travel to the city, particularly in the energy sector, is rising. Nonstop flights mean more available seats on the route and faster flight times.”
BA also said its service from Gatwick to St Lucia will increase to three flights per week from two and will be direct rather than with a stop in Antigua, which will save two hours.
In addition, flights from Gatwick to Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago will go via St Lucia rather than the current stop in Barbados.
