Buy Bonus LTD, a London-based firm, announced it intends to pour some $100 million into a tourist compound in the province of Samana, some 142 miles northeast of Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital.

The group´s execs pointed out this will be a 1,000-room hotel compound exclusively designed for couples that will cover nearly 99 acres of land.

At the same time, developers are interested in turning this new hotel into one of the biggest projects in the area and use it as a launching pad to toss Samana back into the world market.

The megabuck plan is equally destined to becoming a source of job creation and a new economic engine for the entire community of Samana and its neighboring villages.

Tourism is the number-one income source for the Dominican Republic, chipping in roughly 20 percent of the Caribbean nation´s gross domestic product.
