BVI’s Tortola Pier Park Ready for Cruise Season

The Tortola Pier Park in the British Virgin Islands, which officially reopened in late May following repairs from Hurricane Irma, anticipates a robust cruise season with 216 ship calls bringing 405,454 passengers from October to May, according to tourism officials.

The cruise pier partially reopened to cruise ships last November, with a total of 39 calls through April.

The park currently has 50 tenants open to serve visitors, which is 62% of its capacity. Included are dining venues, car and bike rentals, galleries, retail shops and a visitors’ center. More outlets are expected to open in the near future.

Repairs to the pier park included the replacement of red roofs on several of the larger buildings.
