Caribbean Bookings up 12 percent in Q4, Says Expedia

There was a 12 percent increase in room nights booked at Caribbean resorts during the fourth quarter of 2011, according to data released by Expedia Inc. The booking increases came from the U.S., the U.K., Italy, Germany and Brazil.

Caribbean destinations with the largest year-over-year bookings growth were Trinidad and Tobago, 46 percent; Dominican Republic, 40 percent; Bahamas, 25 percent; Curacao, 21 percent; Turks and Caicos, 18 percent; and St. Lucia, 15 percent.
