Caribbean Sun Airlines will start a two-phase shutdown that’s expected to come to a close by the end of this month, on January 31.

On January 16, the airline ceased operations between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. On January 31, the airline will cease all other operations and close its hub at Luis Munoz International Airport in San Juan.

The airline serves Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Passengers with confirmed tickets will be accommodated on Caribbean Airlines (BW), Leeward Islands Air Transport (LI) or Cape Air (9K). If alternate service is not possible, passengers will receive a full refund. The operations of Caribbean Sun’s sister airline, Caribbean Star, will not be affected.
