Carlson Wagonlit Broke all Records in 2007
Carlson Wagonlit Travel has stated that it is now the world’s leading travel management company. CWT sales volume totaled $25.5 billion in 2007, up 30 percent year over year. Annualized new sales, excluding renewals, totaled more than $3 billion, breaking all previous CWT records.
Hubert Joly, President and Chief Executive Officer, CWT attributed “the leadership in the market to focused strategy and increasing capabilities, particularly in program management and program optimization.”
The company has begun to implement its three-year development plan, CWT 2010. It has identified seven areas of priorities: sustaining organic growth, accelerate growth of its hotel business, further develop Meetings & Events activities, increasing efficiency and global consistency of Traveler & Transaction services, enriching Program Optimization offering, further develop services for suppliers and pursue its targeted acquisition strategy.
As part of its three-year strategy, CWT will launch an interactive travel itinerary incorporating information that is relevant and accessible to travelers; develop its mobile services; add new functionalities to CWT Program Management Center and enhance its program compliance services with new credit card reporting capabilities in particular.
