Carnival Cruises Returns to Aruba

Carnival Cruises is once again including Aruba as a destination in their itinerary. Carnival Miracle will make 11 port calls from October 2010 till March 2011. The first port call will be on October 22nd bringing 2124 passengers to the island. The 11 port calls will represent an extra 120 to 140 thousand extra cruise visitors to Aruba.

The Aruba Cruise Tourism recorded a record number of 606,970 cruise visitors in 2009, the highest number since 2005 in which a record 590.350 visitors visited the island. The number for 2009 represents over $46 million in cruise tourism expenditures for the island excluding the 40 percent crew members who also contribute each year.

The crew members’ (93,851 for 2009) contribution accounted for a total of $6.5 million on island expenditures.
