Carnival to Move Miracle West, Splendor to New York
Carnival Cruise Lines in spring 2013 will reposition the Carnival Miracle to the West Coast and the Carnival Splendor to New York. The 2,124-passenger Carnival Miracle will operate Alaska and Hawaii cruises to replace the Carnival Spirit, which is being repositioned to Australia. Carnival Miracle will also operate a seasonal seven-day Mexican Riviera program currently available on Carnival Splendor.
The 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor will assume Carnival Miracle’s year-round eight-day Caribbean schedule beginning in March 2013, representing a 41 percent capacity increase. Before making its Big Apple debut, Carnival Splendor will offer three 13- to 18-day South America voyages in February and March 2013.
When Carnival Miracle moves west, it will operate a 15-day Panama Canal cruise to Long Beach, Calif., March 16-31, 2013. The cruise will call at Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands; Cartagena, Colombia; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The Carnival Miracle will operate seven-day Mexican Riviera cruises from Long Beach to Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas in April 2013 and from October 2013 through April 2014.
The ship will move to Seattle in spring 2013 to operate the seven-day voyages from Seattle every Tuesday from May 7 to Sept. 10, 2013, calling at Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and Victoria, B.C. It also will operate 15-day Hawaii cruises from Long Beach departing on Oct. 19 and Dec. 7, 2013, and Jan. 18, 2014. There will also be a 15-day Hawaii cruise from Long Beach to Vancouver departing April 14, 2013, and another from Vancouver to Long Beach departing Sept. 17, 2013.
Beginning March 23, 2013, Carnival Splendor will launch the eight-day itineraries from New York to Port Canaveral, Nassau and Freeport. Eastern Caribbean departures will visit San Juan, St. Thomas and Grand Turk. An “Exotic Eastern Caribbean” cruise visits the private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Nassau. There will also be a seven-day Bermuda cruise departing April 16, 2013.
