Cayman Islands Reports Continued Increases in Air Arrivals

The Cayman Islands reported its 10th consecutive month of higher air arrival numbers, with 31,407 visitors in July 2011, an increase of 7.5 percent over July 2010 totals, the third-strongest July figures in the last 10 years, according to government officials.

“Figures for December 2010 were the highest for any December since the year 2000 and January registered an increase of 5.8 percent (January over January), which was the highest figure we had seen in any January since 2001,” said McKeeva Bush, premier and minister of tourism.

“These figures demonstrate that the Cayman Islands remains a sought-after destination for families, divers, weddings and honeymoons and those simply seeking sun, sea and sand,” said Shoari Scott, acting director of tourism.
