Celebrity’s Millennium to Receive $10 Million Refurbishment
Celebrity Cruises is rolling out a series of new design schemes on Celebrity Millennium during a $10 million refurbishment this year, beginning during its scheduled dry-dock period this week.
Celebrity Millennium will emerge May 22 from a 12-day dry-dock in Victoria, B.C., with new carpeting throughout the entire ship and new upholstery in every stateroom, the Lido deck, the Celebrity Theatre and the main dining room.
All marble and stone floors and counter areas will be renewed and all wood hand rails on verandas and pool deck areas will be varnished. New Bolidt flooring –an alternative to traditional teak decking- is being installed across the pool deck, outdoor stage, dance floor and jogging track.
Every suite will be equipped with 32-inch LED flat-panel TVs, while every ConciergeClass stateroom will boast 26-inch versions. Additionally, new drapes, bed skirts and bed throws will be added to every suite and stateroom. By October, new upholstery will adorn furnishings in the retail areas, the Grand Foyer and every lounge.
The Celebrity Millennium starts its Alaska season May 22 with a seven-night cruise roundtrip from Vancouver before a series of seven-night Alaska sailings between Vancouver and Seward through September. Select staterooms on several Alaska sailings start at $57 per person per day, when booked by May 31.
