Emil Lee has resigned as president of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) to accept the position of minister of labor, health and social affairs for St. Maarten, according to a statement from the association.

He is leaving the position with about six months left in his two-year term. CHTA First Vice President Karolin Troubetzkoy, who had been tapped to succeed Lee beginning in June, has stepped in as acting president.

Lee served on the CHTA’s board of directors for over 10 years, including as first vice president from 2012 to 2014.
