Lufthansa and Brazilian carrier TAM have launched a cooperation that will provide valuable benefits for customers of both airlines, with immediate effect. The agreement is based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed last year by both carriers.

From now on, members of the partners’ frequent flyer programs will have more opportunities to earn miles and exchange them for awards. More members will be able to accumulate and redeem award miles on all flights operated by TAM.

Since several months already, passengers of Lufthansa and TAM can use the lounges of the each partner airline. In addition, over the next few months, both airlines will expand their services by operating codeshare flights on domestic routes in Brazil and on international routes to that country. Both airlines will thus be able to offer their customers faster connections and an enhanced service.
