Costa Maya Cruise Port Adds Dolphin Discovery, Señor Frog’s
Costa Maya, a cruise destination on Mexico’s southern Yucatan Peninsula, recently added two new attractions -- Dolphin Discovery, which offers dolphin encounters, and Señor Frog’s Restaurant and Bar. Costa Maya’s Dolphin Discovery is the first dolphinarium facility to be located within a cruise terminal and offers both “dolphin encounter” and “dolphin swim” tour options to visitors.
Featuring up to 10 dolphins, expert trainers take participants through a complete explanation about dolphin anatomy, psychology, nature and their ways of communicating under water. The dolphins also perform flips and jumps with visitors in the water. Guests are allowed to kiss the dolphins. Visitors can make reservations through their cruise line, or on an as-available walk-up basis.
Señor Frog’s, located just outside the main gate of the cruise port, will bring the brand’s simple philosophy to just “have fun” to Costa Maya. The 4,200-square-foot restaurant can accommodate up to 134 guests and includes a children clothing store. Hours will vary based upon cruise calls.
