Cuban Tourism Presents Advertising Campaign in Panama

Cuba Ministry of Tourism presented the Autentica Cuba campaign in Panama within the Central American Caravan to promote accommodation deals, as well as other entertainment events and incentives in Cuba.

The presentation was made by Maria Antonia Rodriguez, director of the Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Central America Division, who told Prensa Latina that the Central Caravan kicked off on June 23 in Guatemala, followed by El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama.

The Authentic Cuba campaign is being conducted with the support of Panamanian airline COPA, and groups Cubanacan, Palco, Blue Diamond and Melia Cuba.

Rodriguez said the presentation, which has been carried out in 14 countries, pursues to achieve an increase in tourist arrivals to Cuba and a tighter grip of the national and sub-regional markets, especially Panama that has great prospects because that nation posted the highest growth last year with a double-digit uptick.

Rodriguez said Cuban tourism is seeking new markets at a time when it’s undergoing a major overhaul that has eventually made the island nation’s travel industry grow consistently from 2004 to date.
