The Dominican Republic Gets Awesome 14 Percent Jump in October Travel
The tourism sector’s impressive growth this year, the highest since 2007, results from internal and external factors, said the Dominican Republic Hotels and Tourism Association (Asonahores) vice president Arturo Villanueva affirmed Friday.
Villanueva said the sector grew 14 percent in October and 12 percent accumulated growth during the first 10 months "We’ve achieved impressive numbers this year when compared with the other Caribbean destinations."
“Dominican Republic’s tourism growth has been the fastest among the Caribbean Basin countries,” Villanueva said, accompanied Asonahores president Simon Suarez, treasurer Joel Santos, PR executives Quiterio Cedeño and Dinamarca Bermúdez in the interview by newspaper Hoy.
