It comes as no surprise that Donald Trump’s latest Caribbean venture happens to be one of the largest in the region. Mr. Trump already has his name on the golf course and casino at the high-end Raffles Resort in the Grenadines, but the Cap Cana project in the Dominican Republic will go beyond putting and roulette.

The 30,000-acre Trump at Cap Cana project in the Dominican Republic will feature a $2 billion luxury resort with a golf course, villas, a beach club, a condo-hotel and private residences. Cap Cana, located adjacent to the Punta Cana International Airport, will be developed in stages.

The first stage, called Trump Farallon Estates at Cap Cana, will include 68 private estates, each set on lots of at least 1.5 acres.

When the master plan is completed, Cap Cana will offer more than 5,000 residential units and four luxury hotels, three Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses and a marina with 1,000 slips for yachts up to 150 feet long. The marina’s first phase will open this spring.

Additional resort facilities will include boutiques, restaurants, spas, membership clubs, water sports, polo and horseback riding. Cap Cana is part of the Abrisa Group, one of the primary financial and holding companies in the Dominican Republic.
