Frontier to Fly to Costa Rica, while Spirit Plans Service to Nicaragua
Frontier won final approval from the Transportation Dept. to extend its route system to San Jose, Costa Rica, and began taking reservations for the new service, which will begin November 30.
The flights will operate four times a week from Denver via Airbus A319 aircraft. Frontier already serves Canada and Mexico but this is the carrier’s first route to Central America.
Spirit, meanwhile, continued its buildup of service in the region, disclosing plans for new service between Fort Lauderdale and Managua, Nicaragua, beginning August 2.
Spirit currently flies to San Jose, and Guatemala City, Guatemala, and is planning new service to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and Lima, Peru.
