GOL, Delta Air Lines Enter Agreement to Offer Connections in South America

GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes, parent company of Brazil’s low-cost airlines GOL and VRG, has entered into a baggage and ticketing agreement with Delta Air Lines, allowing for faster and more convenient connections between the two airlines.

Effective July 1, 2007, the agreement provides Delta’s passengers with easier connections through Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to any of GOL’s 58 destinations in Brazil as well as to Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Rosario, Argentina; Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia; Santiago, Chile; Asuncion, Paraguay; Lima, Peru; and; Montevideo, Uruguay.

Delta’s passengers will now be able to enjoy the unique combination of GOL’s low-fares and high quality service that has proven successful across South America,” says Tarcisio Gargioni, GOL’s Vice-President of Marketing and Services.

“This agreement effectively expands Delta’s destinations by making it easier for Delta passengers to enjoy travel to GOL’s area of service,” said Christophe Didier, Delta’s Vice President of Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean.
