Grupo Aeromexico Reports 4.1 Percent Increase in Passenger Numbers

Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V., the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports operating statistics for October, 2012.

Grupo Aeromexico transported 12 million 289 thousand passengers in the first ten months of 2012, which represents a 4.1 percent year-on-year increase driven by a 6.0 percent increase in international passenger traffic and a 3.4 percent increase in domestic passenger traffic.

In October 2012, Grupo Aeromexico transported one million 251 thousand passengers, which represents 1.0 percent year-on-year growth for the month of October. Domestic passenger traffic grew 2.3 percent while international passenger traffic decreased 2.5 percent in October, partially affected by the 30 flights cancelled during October due to weather conditions on the east coast of the United States associated with Hurricane Sandy.

The Company's demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), increased 4.3 percent and capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 6.5 percent in the first ten months of the year. Therefore, the load factor for that period was 76.7 percent. In October, Grupo Aeromexico's RPKs increased 0.1 percent and ASKs grew 3.8 percent, year-on-year. As a result, the load factor for the month was 75.6 percent.
