Guadeloupe Launches New Tourism Campaign
Guadeloupe has extended an invitation to US travelers to discover the diversity of experiences available across the French-Caribbean archipelago with the launch of its new campaign "Guadeloupe Islands, Naturally Active."
The campaign was due to be unveiled on May 9, 2014, with the premiere of season 2 of the video series "Let Me Show You My Islands" starring Guadeloupe Islands and Willy Monfret, ambassador and Guadeloupean international model/DJ.
The new season is comprised of seven episodes and takes travelers on an exuberant journey that showcases the wonder of all five islands and their endless possibilities for enjoyment.
"In season one I wanted to give Americans a taste of our five islands and to inspire them to discover the natural beauty of my home," said Monfret. "In season two we delve in the real Guadeloupe Islands, not just sharing how I enjoy the islands, but more importantly how other Guadeloupeans live and experience our beautiful lands and vibrant culture."
Joining Monfret this season is award-winning travel journalist and shopping expert Sarah Greaves-Gabbadon. A 30-second teaser was released April 27 to give travelers a taste of the upcoming season.
The tourist board will employ an integrated digital marketing strategy using social media and digital media partnerships to engage potential visitors across the US.
"The 'Guadeloupe Islands, Naturally Active' campaign and Season 2 of Let Me Show You My Islands, allow us to present all that differentiate our archipelago from other warm weather destinations as well as demonstrate to the American traveler the wealth of experiences our five islands offer," said Willy Rosier, director general of The Guadeloupe Islands Tourist Board. "We are pleased to have Willy Monfret as our ambassador and partner in inspiring Americans to discover our treasured and unique archipelago."
The video series, created by the tourist board in conjunction with ATOUT-France USA, will be presented via the destination's YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/GuadeloupeIslands May 9-August 15, 2014 with the release of a new episode every two weeks.
