The promotion of Domestic Tourism is high on the agenda for the tourism ministry this year. Tourism Minister, Irfaan Ali, said the ministry will engage the private sector and tour operators to fast track this initiative.

Ali noted that this is to ensure that Guyanese can explore and experience the country’s tourism product at affordable costs. He reiterated that advancing domestic tourism is a vehicle for promoting national integration.

The government will pump some G $200 million into the tourism sector, with the aim of developing the country’s natural beauty.
