Hilton Posts Strong Third-Quarter Numbers

Hilton Hotels Corporation today reported financial results for the third quarter of the ongoing year. Some of the highlights are a 46 percent increase in net income and record fees of $119 million, a 17 percent spike from the third quarter of 2004.

Hilton reported third-quarter net income of $89 million, compared with $61 million in the 2004 quarter. Diluted net income per share was $0.22 in the 2005 third quarter, versus $0.15 in the 2004 period.

The company reported third-quarter total operating income of $203 million (a 19 percent increase from $171 million in the 2004 period) on total revenue of $1.1 billion.

Total company earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were $279 million, a 9 percent hike from $257 million in the 2004 quarter.
