Jamaica Welcomes First Visitors of the Winter Season

Jamaica officially kicked off its winter tourism last week, welcoming the first winter season visitors to the destination.

The first guests to disembark from US Airways flight 1257 were Muferihat Abduljelil and Emil White. The pair flew to the island from San Francisco and have accommodations at Jamaica’s Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa for seven nights.

As part of a winter tourism season promotion, Abduljelil and White received a roundtrip flight to return to Jamaica for a five-night vacation at Riu Montego Bay compliments of US Airways Vacations.

“We are pleased to welcome our first winter visitors of the season,” said Jamaica’s Director of Tourism, John Lynch, in a written statement. “Jamaica is proud to end the year on a high note, with an anticipated increase in stopover arrivals. We’re planning for continued success in the new year.”
