JetBlue Airways yesterday began daily nonstop service to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Beginning June 1, the low-fare airline continues its expansion in the D.R., adding a second daily nonstop flight between the two cities.

The capital city of Santo Domingo is JetBlue’s ninth Caribbean/Atlantic destination and its second city served in the D.R., including Santiago. To celebrate its launch of service to the tropical island, the airline is offering a special $115 introductory sale fare each way between Santo Domingo and New York/JFK. Regular one-way fares between the two cities will start at $150.

Santo Domingo customers can purchase travel on JetBlue by visiting its city ticket office, located at Oficina Boleteria on Ave Winston Churchill in Plaza Las Americas. The office will be open weekdays from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; and closed on Sundays and holidays.

In addition, JetBlue’s entry into Santo Domingo marks the airline’s 24th JetBlue Getaways destination, allowing customers to book discounted vacation packages including airfare, hotel, airport transfers and/or various activities at one time, saving valuable time and money.

Flights to and from Santo Domingo will be operated by JetBlue’s fleet of A320 aircraft, recently modified to provide more legroom between 34 and 36 inches of pitch to customers throughout the cabin. Each leather seat is equipped with a personal seatback television.
