KLM Collaborates with Acclaimed Chef Richard Van Oostenbrugge

KLM, the Royal Dutch Airline, will be offering through January 22, 2015, menus prepared by Dutch chef Richard van Oostenbrugge on its long-haul World Business Class for flights taking off in Amsterdam.

“KLM is proud to collaborate with outstanding chef Richard van Oostenbrugge, who perfectly fits in with KLM’s profile and, just as in our case, is an internationally acclaimed Dutch figure. Richard has developed a magnificent menu for our passengers travelling on the World Business Class”, Paul Elich, KLM’s Service Executive President said.

“I’m honored to be part of this exceptional association. My colleague, Thomas Groot and I have developed a menu that literally takes Bord’Eau restaurant’s dishes up to new levels. Collaborating with KLM represents a tremendous international culinary experience.”

Over the past year, KLM have been offering its World Business Class passengers menus prepared by remarkable Dutch chefs and the airline continuously invests in the onboard service as it works with the finest chefs and sommeliers. Some of the previous menus were prepared by Sergio Herman, Richard Ekkebus, Jonnie Boer and Mario Ridder.

Richard van Oostenbrugge began his career in Gstaad (Switzerland) and has been praised due to his expertise in terms of French techniques. In late 2011, van Oostenbrugge started a new adventure at the luxury five-star De L’Europe Hotel in Amsterdam as the main chef of Bord’Eau restaurant (two Michelin stars). Richard van Oostenbrugge was named Chef of the Year by Gault Millau guide and the best phrase to describe his style is “creative cuisine with the finest ingredients.”
