Korea Tourism Stresses Value for U.S. Visitors
The Korea National Tourism Organization is citing the increasing value of the U.S. dollar as a motivation to visit Korea. About the same time last year, one U.S. dollar traded for 925 won; today it trades for 1,270 won.
In October 2007, a meal of Dolsot-bibimbap and a tour of the ancient Gyeongbokgung Palace would have cost around $10.80. These days the same meal and tour will set tourists back $7.80, a decrease in price of approximately 30 to 40 percent.
